January 2026 Rideout

Post by ymfb »

This month’s ride out is on Sunday 18th January. Meeting at The REME Crown Cafe for a 1030 departure, W3W twins.losing.comic

Your ride leader is Winston Castle and the destination is the Classic Car Hub in the Cotswolds.

NOTE Swindon Riders
For any Swindon riders there will be a ride from J16 Costa to the REME Crown Cafe leaving at 09:30am sharp.

The Rideout is intended to be a fairly short leisurely one going through some good roads in Wiltshire and West Oxfordshire. There will be an interesting set of bends early on via Dauntsey Lock then some A and B roads followed by a short run on the M4 to the end point at J16 M4.
A good mix 30, 40, 50 and National speed limits.
Classic Motor Hub has some great cars for sale and some vintage bikes for viewing.

If anyone is interested in the simulator let Winston know so that they can get it setup.
Note you might miss the return journey if you get carried away and don’t try on the road what you did on the circuit!

Please call or drop Winston a text or WhatsApp on 07917 866740 beforehand if planning to attend. It’s not necessary to join the ride, only to gauge numbers for the Classic Motor Hub

Eligible riders:

• Tutors
• Full members
• Associates, i.e. members undergoing training
• Guests - Any legal rider may be invited as a guest, by an attendee, but ONLY with the prior agreement of the ride leader i.e. ride leader not put on the spot on the day.

What you need to do in advance of joining the ride:

- Full tank of fuel
- Ensure you are familiar with the drop off system, if you are not, please ask.
- Check that your bike is safe and Legal
- Be ready to enjoy!

For the absence of doubt overtaking of cars and other vehicles is welcomed when safe and legal. However, overtaking of other bikes on the rideout is not. This is to create a safe ride suitable for all pillions and those who may be going on one of their first ride outs.

As it is winter, we need to be mindful that this is a social event—and as such, if poor weather conditions prevail, we may decide to cancel the ride at relatively short notice.

I’ll post an update on the forum if this becomes necessary. If you’re ever unsure, please don’t hesitate to text or WhatsApp the ride leader, which in this instance is Winston Castle 07917 866740
